Toots Tours:
A fantastic insight and funny tales of life on St. Mary's and Scilly.

Welcome to Toots Tours.  If you're short on time, or want an informal tour of St. Marys with a personal touch from one of Scilly's most colour and knowledgeable born 'n' bred residents, then you'll love a Toots Tour.

Not only will Toots Tours show you the finer points of St. Mary's including some hidden gems, but Sam Mallon - born and raised on Bryher, now living on St. Mary's - offers an entertaining insight into the "real" Scilly - tales of life on the islands, travelling adventures and its absorbing history.

Find out how Richard Bransow was embraced on the islands and wound up partying on Scilly not once but twice after his Atlantic challenges.  Discover why families were "removed" from the island of Samson 160 years ago.  Learn more about how the islands' children are educated here on Scilly and how Bishop Rock lighthouse was erected in a feat of magnicfient engineering.  Hear about the wreck of HMS Association, which went down off St. Mary's in 1707 and to this day is noted as one of the worst in the UK's maritime history.

Let Sam give you a feel of local life, housing, Scillonian characters and island culture.  You may even get to hear her story about the high seas RNLI rescue and the tale of the lost shoe....

The Toots Tour takes in Star Castle, Isles of Scilly Police Station, the RNLI Lifeboat Station, Halangy Down, Watermill, Normandy, Porth Hellick, Old Town including Sir Harold Wilson's grave, before returning to Hugh Town.
